NHS Dentistry
Treatment that is clinically necessary to protect and maintain good oral health is available on the NHSNHS Dental Care
Your NHS dentist will provide any treatment that you need to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy and free of pain. While we offer NHS Dental Care at our practice in Wrotham Road, Gravesend, it is subject to capacity available, however we would never refuse to see children under the NHS.
We are unable at present to see new NHS patients. We will update this policy when we are able.
NHS Dental Care Charges
If you normally pay for NHS dental treatment, the amount you pay depends on what treatment you need. If you are eligible to pay charges you will pay a set fee for the complete course of NHS dental treatment. Your course of treatment will fall into one of three bands. The appropriate course of treatment for you and the cost of your treatment will be discussed. You and your Dentist will then be able to agree the appropriate treatment plan for your needs. The bands and the associated NHS dental fees are shown below:
- Band 1: £26.80 includes an examination, diagnosis and advice. If necessary, it also includes X-rays, a scale and polish (if clinically necessary) and planning for further treatment.
- Band 2: £73.50 includes all treatment covered by Band 1, plus additional treatment, such as fillings, root canal treatment and removing teeth (extractions).
- Band 3: £319.10 includes all treatment covered by Bands 1 and 2, plus more complex procedures, such as crowns, dentures and bridges.
(Prices correct as of April 2024)All children and some people do not have to pay for NHS dental treatment. Exempt patients are required to show their exempt documentation at the start of their treatments. If you are unsure whether you are exempt from NHS dental charges you will be able to find more information at NHS Choices.
Cosmetic Dental Treatment
NHS dental treatment does not include cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening and clear braces (such as Invisalign and Inman Aligners). Cosmetic treatments like this are used to improve the appearance of your teeth and make them look more attractive and are only available privately.
